Title: Strategies to stop smoking
Post by: ERU on January 04, 2007, 00:53:59 AM
I seem to have developed a bad habit over the hols ... smoking ... im a very fit guy so this isnt good for 2007.

It started on a night out in Pontypridd (Wales). I was with a few mates in a club full of only girls and decided to have one before I tired my luck, bit of dutch courage. This one deteriorated into a packet whilst talking and every time I went out after (alot as it was Christmas) I seemed to drink a few jars and said yes when someone offered me a smoke. Its got to the point that I now crave the buggers!

I got my first day back at work tomorrow and managed to surprisingly find a bottle of expensive wine someone bought me in my van. In my curiosity I decided to have a glass (or two) and now I NEED to smoke! Have I gone mad? How do the f**k do I stop! Have I become a casual smoker? OH NOES!

Dont stop. Smoking is awesome. People that complain about your second hand smoke are second hand cool. Let them know this, and theyll be happy you shared. :)

ok hi im ERU (aka Steve) and Im dead now. Smoking didnt kill me, a bunch of non-smokers kicked the sh*t out of me one night. I tried to run but they had more energy than I. I tried to hide but they heard me wheezing. Some of them smelled me!

"This public service announcement has been brought to you by Laramie and Menthol Moose."

Homer: Well, its been two hours.  How do you feel?
Bart: I dunno.  I kinda want a cigarette.
Homer: Thats a good start.  Lets get you a pack.  Whats your brand?
Bart: Anything slim!

Charlie = coke

When you smoke more youll learn all the cool terms.

Give up while you still can. Its too late for me, but you can live my son. Go. Leave me with a rollie and a few matches. Ill hold em off long enough for you to get away. Quick. The cancer draws closer. Oh God, its got a regiment of yellow teeth and flaccid penises with it. GO!

smoking is gay - was only ever cool when you were in school

now all it does is make you smell, waste your money, stain your teeth & make you die earlier.

If youve only recently started then you might as well just go for the will power approach - just make sure you dont turn into one of the muppets who come out with utter crap like

Im just a social smoker

Im not really a smoker but I do smoke occasionally

and the classic...

I can give up any time I like

I used to smoke 40 a day, after about a year and a half of growning from 1 a week to that.

Id suggest, cut down from what you are on at the moment. Although if youre smoking on a night out you really cant do anything in my current thought pattern other than say no to them when they are offered.

Although somthing you notice about yourself might help you, are you getting slightly yellow teeth? Are you worried about your health in later life? your friends health in later life? (passive smoking) Are you worried you wont be able to get an erection? (again) :snigger: try thinking of the bad sides of smoking and focus on those.

I tried to give up for 3 months, finally did it at the NYE party Cornholio had :D

the best way to quit smoking is to punch yourself in the nuts everytime you think you need a cigarette. you will soon stop smoking if you religiously follow this regieme.
