Courier New SUCKS ASS
times new roman rocks

Courier New rocks, because fixed pitch looks so neat and tidy.
If I recieve anything in Times New Roman I think it looks shoddy, simply because it used to be the default font that everyone used.
For Screens Verdana 12 point
TNR rocks CNs world
but anything is better than Ariel TBH
Verdana for the win! :P
but since its not an option ill go for CN

im a fan of helvetica but Tahoma wins out in any contest.
Out of TNR and CN... gotta be TNR, the macdaddy, the original, the one and only one. mmmmmm I love those serifs!
For me its all about Trebuchet MS, but TNR is slightly less unattractive than Courier New
Jaimz
Bitstream Vera (http://www.bitstream.com/font_rendering/products/dev_fonts/vera.html) all the way. Sans for screen reading, and Serif when printed. The Bitstream fonts are blockier than the MS stuff and "glom" the words together better for faster reading.
oops lol thats ARIAL then
I do believe you non-typographists realise the weight and style of font is more than just mere personal preference.

The only people who should be using fixed pitch are programmers and accountants, for books, letters and the like TNR is the better option.

I heard that Courier new is better because it makes things seem a faster read because its bigger.
It looks ok printed out but not as black as TNR does, and you get a lot less words on the page with CN..
