Title: Train Tickets
Post by: Sam on June 24, 2007, 19:39:41 PM
Am about to order some tickets for a train, they offer loads of tickets with slightly different names.

MML ADVANCE E
                          £11.00
MML ADVANCE F
                          £13.00
MML ADVANCE G
                        £17.00

Anyone know the difference ?

pah, try booking tickets for India, the system will tell you to book a ticket where the train goes to your destination first, then to your start point, then stops :s

or you pay for a ticket, and only then find out that it doesnt run on the day you need it !  plus they keep £4 every time you cancel one!

(p.s. this post is of no help at all to you)

I thought those letters generally corresponded to a group of tickets at a certain price, so theyll have a certain number of As, Bs, and Cs for sale?

As far as I know theres no actual difference between the tickets youre buying other than price.

Worth checking to make sure theyre all applicable in peak hours etc if you need that though.

Could be massively wrong though.

Its a specific time so its not that. Your suggestion of group of tickets might make sense.

I bought some tickets from Trainline a little while back and the difference is the amount of time in advance that you book.

From Trainline
QuoteThere are five price levels available in each class; A-E; A being the highest and E the lowest. The earlier you book the better the price that may be available to you. For each product type you will receive the same level of service whether you buy the A, B, C, D or E version.
