Its twenty degrees above normal. I wore a summer suit coat and thin shirt on new years and was a bit hot when I was outside.  Should at least be scarf weather.

Then again, when there is news of an incoming snowflake, local stores are stripped of bread and milk.

What is the Nashville norm? Are you temperate like us? I know places like NYC get quite wide variations, more than the UK, and places like LA hardly any.

Were in the near south, so are victims of the gulf stream. In the winter, if it stays north, you get a twenty degree bonus. However, the norm is for it to come down like a giant icy tongue from Canada, chilling the midwest all the way down to Birmingham and Atlanta.

Heres all the stats:
http://www.weatherunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=Nashville,%20TN
Norm is 45F or 7C. Fahrenheit makes sense here as 0F is as cold as it ever gets, and 100F is a hot summer day. 50F is a bit brisk and when I put away the knee breeches.

One odd thing we get here are random showers pulled from the clouds by the heatsink of the city. Youll look at a radar map and the precipitation follows the contours of the citys population centers. We also get nasty pollution at times as were in the Cumberland Basin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashville_Basin). Much like LA. Its gotten a bit better due to less smoggy vehicles.

Indeed, its strange that NYC would have such inconsistent weather, due to it having the moderating sea, but its also affected by this stream of Canadian chill.

Ive heard that some skiing places in the US still havent had any decent snow at all due to the exceptionally warm weather. Perhaps its time for an all channel broadcast of Im Dreaming of a White Christmas and hope that works?

Were also heading for an El Nino year so the weather is going to be dodgy at best.

Good old CO2 we do seem to be having strange weather lately, it is very mild, wet and windy where as this time last year we has quite abit of frost and snow by now.

I cant really complain tho, I just took the catalyst out of my car
