Post by: FuMaN on March 20, 2006, 15:09:26 PM
I havent had a domain for years so I dont whos best to go with. Basically need about 100mb really and ideally as much bandwidth as possible. I also need 1 .com domain for about 2 years. Cheap as possible really as this isnt for myself. Thanks.

yeah bluguy ftw, although theyre a bit more expensive than when I joined, since I joined ages ago when they were creativesell and got a cheap hosting package and the price has stuck

http://www.ihostwebservices.com

IIRC my personal domain www.zombiechorus.com costs be $30 per year.  Thats with 100Mb, 5Gb, Unlimited Mail/MySQL/Sub-Domains etc.

used him for just over 2 years now,  server is solid and the spam filtering etc is excellent.

Dreamhosts had a silly deal.  Ã,£22 for 20GB storage and 1TB of bandwidth...  And a free domain but its theirs.  You merely use it.  So if you register www.thisismywebsite.com Dreamhost own it, not you.

ETGlobalSolution get my vote too. Crocket is very helpful with problems if any arise. Very reliable servers too, downtime is extremely rare.

You might find it cheaper and better to register your own domain seperately with UKReg and point it to the hosts nameservers when you obtain your webserver space.

Is Crocket still knocking about on here, does anyone know?

Crocket - if you read this, can you PM me, please?

You can find him on IRC if needed :)

#etglobalsolution on quakenet :)

Cant fault the service Ive had from them, when there is downtime, its sorted within a few hours at most :) Impressive service, and they always try and keep us in the loop.

OK I registered a domain and signed up with the gold package with Etglobalsolution. However I dont know what to do from here. Ive been sent no ftp details or anything. Ive logged into my billing account but thats been useless. Any suggestions? This is a bit new to me, usually Im given an address for the control panel or something.

your control panel will be http://www.yourwebaddress.com/cpanel :)

And your username and pass should have been emailed to you :)
