From Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to IT Infrastructure Manager!! Current manager stepping up to Head Of IT. MUCH bigger role for me, and totally different to what I have been doing. Bit nervous actually - but just got to get my head down and start learning the new skills I'll need.
Absolutely stoked - 7 years hard work really has paid off. No mention of wonga yet though!!
forget the money. Take it for a learning experience. Get yourself on some project management courses & progress from there.
Afterall, any infrastructure needs planning! & project planning can also lead a route out of IT if you want to - £1000 a day contracts, etc.
Once again congrats mate. Now I know another head of IT to give me huge money on short contracts whenever I'm back in the UK :P
Huge congrats mate,

Fantastic, great to see your hard work bringing home the bacon matey. As Egg said if nothing else it offers you a nice branch our into the lucrative project management guff :ptu:
Nice one Rivkid, hopefully should come with a nice pay rise to put the icing on the cake as well!
congrats :-)
soon as you get your pay rise.... remember that fifty quid you owe me ?
Cheers guys :) Still really stoked!
I know its not all about the money, but getting tired of always working for less than market value. We're trying to hire my senior replacement and they're surprised at the money comparative people are asking for - I'm really not I've been telling them for ages lol!!
Anyway we'll see what happens - either way experience is too good to miss! :)
