Ive just spent a period of time in a hell hole working on a project with 2 sups and another techy. The sups were ok but the second techy who I was working with was bone-idle and had no sense of time management. Proper lazy git.

So I had to carry him through the project; I probably did twice as much work as he did and everytime we had heavy lifting to do hed shy away from it and find some excuse with the sups to go sit down for half an hour. Seriously, hed sit down for hours whenever he could get away with it.

So anyway we were due to finish on thursday, so I booked my hotel up til wednesday night, but it turned out wed overrun til today because of various issues. Problem was I couldnt get a hotel, even after trying 20-25 different places within a 20mile radius, so by around 7pm I decided to get the train home (Ã,£80 round trip in taxi & train fare).

I got home just before midnight, and left again for work at 7am, absolutely exhausted. I phoned one of the sups to tell them what time I would be there and he was pretty much fine about it, but then when I turned up I got bitched at for being late and wasting time, even though the other techy had the previous day deliberately held onto the one thing were completely dependant on* and so cost the whole team the entire afternoon without anyone complaining.

Then this afternoon when I was doing my timesheet the sup who hadnt gone home early to get to a social function said that it wasnt right that I was getting the same amounth of pay for this week because I hadnt done the same amount of work as the other guy, owing to the fact that I was late. btw this sup was coming in 1-2hrs late every single day.  

I was too angry to say anything and I feel stupid for not raising this.

* I had explained to him how to fix a certain issue in 5-10minutes, but he strolled off saying sod that Ill drag this right out and he spent 3-4hours fixing it before trying what Id suggested - which worked.

I cant believe you havnt pointed out what a bone idle twat the other guy is, you want to tell them all to go and burn in hell. You can do better than this.

make a formal complaint to someone higher up

especially if they do dock pay

go over the heads of all of them (if you can)

make sure you come over nice tho, in a "its more than I can take" way, and not a "those basterds"

best to do it in person, be nice and stressed, make it look like you dont want to slay the other guys off, tell them how youve been working your ass off, you like your job, you want to keep it etc...

and just see what happens

very good advice, make the higher up feel that you arent being appreciated, not that you are being awkward

Sounds like hes quite possibly working as a contractor to me, so maybe while it shouldnt, it does probably mean his comments to anyone above lose some of their credibility/value.
