The Orange box does not run very well for ps3 owners, yet another game in an every growing list of games that are have been delayed due to issues with the machine and/or when launched not running very well on the machine.

As with any console in time developers will get the hang of it but I can see them all thinking "why should we bother" and before the time it would need to actually get the hang of it I can see some not bothering at all and everyone else as with ps2 and the xbox they will produce games and optimise it for the 360 and then just port it to the ps3 and so the extra space on the discs will be waisted and games in the future for the ps3 only looking better from 1st party and just the same as the 360 if not worse in some areas

Its worth pointing out that sony have actually halfed the price of the SDKs to the developers.

Its a shame really.  Ive used both systems thoroughly and overall I have been far more impressed with the PS3.  Without taking away from how a good a system the 360 is.

Its just a shame it has been handled by absolute spoons of management of finance.  I personnaly just think it was the sucess of the PS2 that has gone to their heads and still is.

There is a silver lining to the PS3.

Whats the silver lining then?  To give MS a feeling of Competition?
Hahahahha

I suspect its because of porting the Source Engine from DirectX to OpenGL for the PS3, that most of the slowdown occurs. Plus it was done by EA, not Valve themselves.

It would have a case but opengl to directx for some games for 360 have been actually better as a direct port and the fact ever other developer is having issues with ps3 development does not mater who it is done by

QuoteConcerns have been raised about the PlayStation 3 version of The Orange Box, but it now looks like it may have just been a load of hot air

There is a patch on the way for that thankfully.  I think its in the next system update.

Yes I am quite miffed with that also.

It was on "special offer".  I was hardly going out my way for one.

...it is a good console.  A far lot better than I was expecting.

I think the "failing hardware" department I think they have covered for a start.

Tbh, I was shocked to see someone spend over £600 on a PS3 a couple of games, movies and an extra controller in GAME the other day.
