I just formated my old rig to 64bit but cant get the networking working right...

I can rempte connect into it
internet works on it
can ping it / from it and it all works ok

just theres nothing I the network neighborhood and I cant access workgroup...

have enables netbios too... sometimes helps!

Its got a shared folder on it, which sometimes helps too


any ideas anyone ?   ... it did have a problem reading a file from the CD when I was installing, I ended up just skipping it because its just my second rig... Im guesseing thats probably the cause... just thought id check first !

Try making a network wizard disk from a machine you know works properly and use that?

What file?  Ill dig my install disks out and see what i can sort if you like.

check the workgroup ID
