Eastern Europeans have to be paid the same as British citizens, a lot of them are paid a lot more due to their skill levels in what they do. Although many of them do sh*tty jobs they are not paid £20 a day any more, unless its an illegal gangmaster working them. It isnt only in London but farming and other areas also benefit.

Throwing me out, along with some of the other members on here, would be more productive than getting rid of a load of eastern Europeans. That would be problematic ATM.

Chavs and the like who can work but dont are the real issue. Sterilise them to improve the UK gene pool. Egg as usual is being short sighted, job centres are highly important in getting people into work.

Tax the rich properly to provide enough money for the NHS (note I reserve the right to withdraw this statement if I ever become rich...)

Thing is Serious these comments are by people who live in places untouched by immigration. They just read the daily mail. If EE were not working our bars and hotels then London would grind to a halt. Im a big supported of the EU. We have a legal underclass of people who are willing to worok under the counter for naff all doing the crappest jobs, but idiots think theyre stealing our educated positions.

We, like most people I suspect, have polish and other nationalities working for us at our company. They are often praised for working hard and doing tough jobs. Fair enough indeed.

But then so would I if I could then take my pay packet and send it home to my country where its worth 10 times that. Hell, if a job came up in the US or Canada and they paid 10 times what I get now, Id be off like a shot.

I suppose they are just taking advantage of an economical quirk through no fault of their own.

They still have to live here and pay the same prices you do. Its only worth more if you save it up and then take it out. And theres nothing stopping you doing that either. So its completely fair.

and what about their savings? the money they dont spend.

Most just come over here to work a few years to earn decent money.

They then return home with a handsome wedge.

+ they bring their own cars, so they arent paying road tax, doubt if they have insurance & certainly dont return home to "mot" their cars - if they have such a thing.

Look at that fool in the paper who said we are bettter off giving Illegals £4k to return home, than paying the £11k it costs to ship them back..


ERM.... But most of that £11k will stay in this country. That £4k is £4k of british wealth gone out the country (prob. Keep £2k & then pay £2k to be smuggled back over & try again).

I have nothing against them coming in & doing the work the long term unemployed wont do... I do have a problem when they are only doing the jobs just so because of all the other handups they get like family tax credits, child allowance, etc. Thats not their fault, thats the goverments fault.

What other country can you turn up at the doors & get given a house - (usually jumping the waiting list), state benefit handouts, access to free medical care, treatment, dentistry, etc.

The normal hard working brit, prob looks down on those who wont work & enjoy their life on the welfare state. Those enjoying their life on the welfare state are probably laughing at us for being mugs.

The best of both worlds is to work 16hour a week job. Then your still entitled to housing benefit, family tax credit, childcare allowance, free prescriptions, dental care, etc. + all the various goverment grants for a new boiler, central heating, insualtion, Council Tax/Rates, etc.

How much is all that worth? I bet you can live just as well will all those handouts as someone on the UK average wage of £23k (which is artifical IMO when most people only earn £6-£7 an hour - maybe they should exclude everyone who earns more than £250k PA & then actually do an average.. a £50k a week footballer could pay the wage for about 175 people earning £7 an hour)

I need a new boiler, the one I want I cant afford without knocking a dent in my renovation plans. Can I get any help ? (only £350) can I f*$k. Dont sound like much, but if I had to save the extra, It would put me back 3months... The council would earn it back + more as it means I can move in earlier & the earlier I move in, the earlier I pay council tax!

Maybe I should cut my own salary & then get the work done.

a british chav will be wasting away in a council house claiming all the benefits you listed earlier

some polish person will be working in a factory/on a building site/in a bar and earning minimum wage. isnt likely to be claiming any benefits - the vast majority of them work - out of the 600,000 eastern Europeans whove moved here only 700 have claimed jobseekers allowance - fact is most of them are just young people who will take a bunk bed in a rented room & share with other poles.

I couldnt care less if they send money back home - the work they are producing will be generating a revenue for their employer that is much greater than the minimum wage they are getting, they are still going to be paying taxes.

As dave said, 600,000 Polish, 700 of them not working, 10 got a house free for a year. The tax they have paid hugely eclipses the odd free eye test someone might get.

And personally Id rather have them here than the British wasters claiming dole.
