It was MOT day for the Megane today, was expecting it to do ok tbh it drives and goes well enough but that would be too easy, it failed on both front coil springs incomplete! and emissions over limit!

The springs are a common thing apparently!! WTF a major suspention component just snapping in half is a common problem!?!?! bloody frogs.

i am Ã,£230 lighter in my already thread bare pocket, to think i let her convince me to take my rover off the road after 2 problem free mots in a row.

On my german VW passat the springs were often broken but my french peugeot is doing just fine.

My Clio is doing alright, but it had already had thousands of pounds of work done before I got it, everything bar the bodywork and leads were new I think :D

Well my astra has had spring problems needed 2 replacing in last MOT, bloody humps screw them up. I was chatting to a mate in a garage and it seems a lot of cars need new springs.

Indeed they are.  It was very well explained to me by the chap at my local "Specialized Renault Services" Garage.  He reckons the problem is constant abuse they get from speed bumps.

Yes my megane also failed on Front Left spring and its Rear Right break compensator which had properly seized up (I didnt know what one was before then lol) back in September.  By broken btw, I mean the very end of it had chipped off.

Other than that is was all good.
