Ok folks ive got a question for you all.

Got a SBS (win 2003) and alls well. Now at Christmas we installed a new pc. A fancy dell thing with lights and allsorts. Popped it on the network and that's where its all gone wrong.

If you log off and back on then you don't notice anything. However if you log off for a few days it looses all settings for everything (outlook, AutoCAD etc) and you have to reconfigure. Now I've removed the profile and re added it and it works fine on all the other machines so I don't think there's a problem there its just this one machine (which co incedently is doing 80% of the work now and hasn't been rebooted since chrimbo) Now if you switch one of the computers on upstairs first and logon before you switch the one downstairs on then that seems to work as well. So the question is what's wrong and how do I fix it?

Oh and the user is a domain admin so no problems there.

Please help as its driving me mad.

Ive never heard of an issue like that before.  I fail to see how another PC would affect it.

Your not using roaming profiles are you?  Check in AD where the default path leads to.

If its a local profile the only way that could happen is if someone is deleting the profile.  Profiles dont "just disapear".

User logging onto multiple machines at once?

Had things work fine for a few months, but then when you logged off the accounts overwrote each other.

The fix should be ::
Log off both computers and clear the roaming profile out.
Delete the profile folder off the server
log back in with one machine, and create a 2nd account for the other machine.
