Hey has anyone used one of these? Are they any good? Does anyone know if there are any good deals on them at the moment?

Cheers

Ive got one.  I got it after upgrading to a 3 X-Series phone and used it to watch TV on my phone.  Ive also used it with my laptop and desktop and it works pretty well.

Is it reliable? Mostly I will just be using it over the local network, so I can watch my cable tv in other rooms in the house. But it would be good to be able to watch tv over the internet too... Although I dont expect the picture to be great due to telewests lower upload rate.

Cheers for your help mate.

yes, they are rock solid.
Use my often to watch TV.

Got mine setup so I can control my NTL & my motordish from my phone

I cant say Ive had any problems with mine, but the most Ive used it was for a week when my telly broke.  Ive taken a couple of pictures to give you an idea of what the quality is like, sorry theyre a bit dark.

Cheers for your help guys, especially Danny... very useful, think Im going to go for the SlingBox Solo, as it looks very sexy and has better compression that the regular sling.

BTW which slings are you guys using??

Eggtastico

im using the original. Have had it for over a year.

Try & find older software as there is a 3rd party app that lets you record.

Still trying to find a hack so I can share it more than once tho

Can you only access it from 1 location at a time then? as I want to be able to watch in at least 2 rooms at a time.

no, its 1:1

I think the HAVA http://www.myhava.com/ allows more than 1 share

Ye I had a look at that, but unable to find it in the UK.

There is also the Pinnacle PCTV Go, which is supposed to be quite good, and allows multiple users, but will only Run on PC.

Which isnt normally an issue but considering running OSX on my laptop!
