I just test drove a FTO and was pleasantly surprised. Ive always liked them. The V6 was awesome and the interior was comfy. The only niggle I had was the salesman said there was a common fault with them, basically they stall when theyre cold and idling and so you have to rev it for a minute or so before you set off.

Is that bullsh*t? It sounded like bullsh*t.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Well as most of you probably know I am completely car thick - however my mate at work has an FTO and Ive never seen him have to do this. Ive just asked him and he said hes never had that problem. Make of that what you will.
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

i was looking at one a while back, one that i tested had been standing for ages and it started first time and drove perfect straight away. that was mivec one too.

they are nice cars, i wa suprised at how fast it was for a tiptronic too.

Pete

cheers,

Yeah its the first time Ive ever driven an auto, I didnt like it moving off from standstill but taking it up to 60-70 was pretty amazing.

the v6 sounds nice buts completely ruined by the auto gearbox because of the way it just smoothly goes between gears, theres no bark when you channge. and for that reason id get a manual

Pete

Yeah but manual FTOs are like virgins in Pompey - there arent many about. Ideally Ill get a manual but I think I could live with the tip box.

My car stalls some times when its cold, I think its the idle control valve though as it struggles to maintain a constant idle speed when its cold.

FTOs look great, never driven one but never heard of a bad thing about them. Id just keep your eye out for a manual one if you dont need a car straight away if youre buying one.

if your looking for a jap coupe have  look at the 200sx ive heard nothing but good things about them.

Pete

I dont like the old shape 200sx and the new shape is too much. Im trying to find something around 2.5-3k so I can get it cash again.

edit: and really Im set on an FTO. A good blinged up MR2 would be sweet but my budget only allows std cars with crappy alloys and duff paint.

yeah it would have to be the newer shape one, they look evil.

youll be able to find a very nice FTO for 3k.

I really like the look of the FTOs, there used to be one just down the road in red that looked the business.

Now I get to see a bright yellow Elise instead from my new residence :w00t:
