Im wondering if you can play on a wii using backups of your origonal disks without having to install a mod chip ?

Im just wondering of course.... and of course, there might be things that need to be pmd and not posted...

yep, Ive got the cyclowiz from team cyclops http://www.teamcyclops.com/
works with their software, plus its compatible with the open source version.
Prob the best there is.. install the switch & you can update the chip from a dvd.

Newer consoles can be a pig to chip. the older ones are simple enough.

Oldest consoles are about 8 wires, then youve got the slightly newer ones which are same amount but youve got to drill into a chip to get to the legs.  Then the newest ones are 40 wires and basically your bypassing half the mainboard.

I really dont see why this sort of thing should be so heavily frowned upon - (i understand why obviously as the games/music industry etc.. lobby a lot for this sort of thing to be cracked down upon) - but as far as mod chips go it shouldnt be the case.

Its one thing for people to buy pirated games but it is still entirely fair for someone to modify a piece of electrical equipment they own IMO - in fact making a backup of games you own (given how much they cost) ought to be fairly legit too tbh...

either way you wouldnt find a bike shop getting prosecuted for fitting non standard pedals, gears, breaks etc..  to a new bike - it pisses me off that shops offering to modify consoles etc.. are persecuted.

Serious

It isnt them coping games they own but distributing copies to other people that they are worried about. If everyone played fair and bought the games then they would be saying a lot less about it.
