Has anyone here (w/ a PS3) used the WMV playback yet ?

If so, can you confirm whether the PS3 will playback a > 2gb WMV file ?
And can the WMVs be streamed, played from USB and/or disk ?

Everything I am reading online merges the DivX and WMV playback together and then states that there is a 2gb file limit but nothing states whether this affects both Divx and WMV or just DivX/WMV.

Video files can be streamed straight of a USB stick or other storage.

The 2GB limit is on DivX files.  I dont know about WMV.

Cool, my m8 has just bought a PS3 purely for Blueray and I mentioned the WMV playback.
Im going to head around his over the weekend for some beer and movies, so Ill take some WMVs with me now too

Just read that the PS3 fw2.2 has been released and that among other things it updates the PS3 to support DivX / WMV files > 2gb

360 works with FAT32 and HFS+ for USB storage, only the latter doesnt have the 4Gb filesize limit.

Can you stream from a PC with a PS3?

Yes.
the PS3 works as a uPNP media client. So if you run something like TVersity then you can stream to it
