El Jacko

I plan to use every one of those that doesnt cost money on my dads computer-illiterate colleagues

XEntity

I have used most of them in our office...

...Just to add a couple more that we have done...

- Use one of those remote switches, which plug in to a mains socket, and connect to a monitor, and turn it off, only turning back on when they hit it.. or similar funny scenario!

One bloke in our dept also went on holiday for a week, we replaced his whole computer with a cardboard version... obvious but still funny when he just wanted to get some work done...

...also the same bloke, we popped the keys off his keyboard and mixed them around, needless to say, he couldnt touch type!

Heh heh

Oh and forgot to say related to one of the pranks listed....

In a previous tech support job I was doing for a solicitors I got a call saying that their screen was upside down....

... So went up later that day as I was off site and immediately saw the monitor was upside down on the desk... so thought someone was taking the p*ss!

Turned it on and the image was up the right way! (They had obviously accidently hit the rotate screen key combo).

I just p*ssed myself, but thought well done! ...Screens upside down - so turn the monitor upside down to compensate!

Shakey

One of the better more annoying ones is moving the keys on a keyboard number pad. If you look carefully, youll notice that on a pc keyboard, 123 is at the bottom, whereas on phones/calculators etc 123 is at the top. So switch someones keyboard to be the same as calculators, and they wont notice until they try using it.

zpyder

They forgot to put changing someones wallpaper/homepage to goatse or tubgirl ><

Leon

Fun one I did was when one of the guys went on holiday. I stuck Windows 3.11 onto a bootable usb stick and set it to boot from USB. Ran a usb extension cable from the computer and hid the USB stick.

After coming back from holiday turned on his computer and thought we had rebuild his machine with 3.11 :)

There is also the remote shutdown commands. Just do shutdown -i in your command prompt and you get a nice GUI to add lots of machine to reboot / shutdown at will :)
