Hi all, I have a Zalman 120mm heat sink on my computer, which has a blue LED in and is VERY annoying! What would be the easiest way to turn this LED off?

El Jacko

Get some long nose pliers and rip the damn thing off [take the heatsink out the system first]

knighty

is the led in the fan or in the actual heat sink ?

either way, itll be powered by the fan power ? look for the wires going to it.... and chop em ;)

Or black paint? How to disable it without disabling it. When you then want to use it again, remove the paint with some meths or something...

El Jacko

What if he cant reach it?

I say mindless destruction wins out.

Just cover it with a little bit of insulating tape.

Serious

If you can get at them cut the wires...

Not the ones to the motor though!!! ;)

Yeah, just tear off a tiny LED-sized bit. :P

knighty

just throw the whole thing in the bin, heatsinks are for pussies !

That explains the strange burning smell coming from your end of the country then...
