Ok, I gave my car a quick clean and polish on Sat afternoon

This is what I transformed it into:

Its still nice and smooth but its raining now, so no-one knows what itll be like tomorrow.

is your rear torsion bar set to the correct height ?

Its a bar from a random 106. I really have to get a Rallye rear beam but they are rarer than rocking horse sh*te and when they do come up they are often miles away or close by and in poor condition.

The one I have on doesnt have a ARB appently, I think the ARB on a rally is 21mm iirc I think the XSi is 19mm

Edd

that car looks almost as bad as my old 106!

Mark

the back beam from a saxo will do

mr_roll

Spied one or 2 on fleabay locally ;)

The Saxo beams are just as high, I want a rallye beam as they are lighter than the VTS or 106 GTi beam :)

Jaimz

Looks like itd be more suited to the roads of France, lots of shabby old pugs knocking about over here

AX stuff will do too but has 3-stud hubs so youll need to change those

Get a VTS saxo setup, drop it a nick and get coilovers for the front (Again from an AX or the like)

Yeah, When I have it to the right hight I might think about lowering it but I do have 15" wheels for it, so it might not be needed.

I was saving for tyres over the past several months for the 4 new wheels, sure its not a great deal of money £200 or so for a set and fitting etc but now either my drive shafts or CV joint is on its way out and I want to keep that dosh just incase I have to get those fixed. I dont want to be asking my garage for credit.

So I buy 4 tyres and hope the drive shafts dont fail epically. Or buy 2 tyres for the back bald-ish tyres and save a lot of cash.

Although Im thinking, do I really need to get some expensive tyres... I mainly just drive around town and a few motorway journeys. Rarely go for a drive now-a-days. hmm

:pondering:

put the rallye steels back on it, they look like any other barryd 106 without them

I dont have them. I have 309Goodwood Speedline alloys. They are the 205 1.9GTi alloys but in dark green.

I might look to get the S2 steelies in the future, like next year as they are wider than the S1 steelies.

I also have a new bumper (front rallye S1 bumpers are hard to come by or miles away) and also plan getting the bonnet fixed or replaced and need a new slam panel and radiator too up front.

Is it clicking real bad round corners? I had an AX GT with 130hp that did that for months before I changed them.

Theyre the same as loads of other PSA cars - AX diesel, AX GT, most saxos

£40 each exchange for new ones

They take 30 mins to change.

andy I can give you a hand change them if you want ?  its a piece of cake :)
