A couple of months back I needed some music to quickly put on my phone so that I had something to listen to while down the gym.

I came across a few albums in my collection of MP3s by a band called Rush.

Had no idea what to expect, but I have to say I was blown away, so much so Ive just bought their first 10 albums.

They started out as a straight forward rock band in the same mould as Led Zeppelin and AC/DC but ended up becoming some crazy prog rock band like Yes who sang about space travel and life on other planets.

For anyone curious and wanting some good pointers, the track called 2112 which is the opener on their album 2112 is immense!  Moving Pictures is probably their most successful album, but id say overall, 2112 so far is my favourite.

Anyone else had a listen to them?

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Grace Under Pressure and Hold Your Fire - those are the albums you need, especially Grace!

I didnt get Rush when I first heard them but Ive never looked back.

Their recent stuff is sh*te though!  :mutley:

Grace Under Pressure is one of the first ten, so have got that, but there was no CD in the case :(

Ill give it a few months listening to these 10 then Ill look to get the rest, which is about another 10.

You have to see Maiden live, the atmosphere at a Maiden gig is excellent. Although, after seeing them twice, I thought nothing could top their gigs, then I saw Motley Crue and was completely blown away.

Admittedly Ive never seem Motley Crue, but I also used to think nothing would top Maiden, then I saw Manowar and nothing has ever come close.

Not so much a fave album, more favourite tracks - I think I must have played 2 minutes to midnight, aces high and ghost of the navigator 100 times today in the new ICE system!!

The year before last I took 3 weeks off work and went to see 14 gigs across europe

I also went to see them in Brazil a good few years back. Am trying to get a place on ed force one the next time one arises - a mate of mine runs an NI iron maiden fan club and a friend of his works as one of their road crew.

best live band, ever.
