no, from an Audi dealer having a clear out.

another twist today, car went into the garage for an inspection and I was told that nothing was wrong with the rear axle   they also chaged me £130 for 1.7hours labour    changing the wheel bearing.

somthing is definatly up with the rear of the car, ill have to have a good look myself. fu*kin garages.

is it possible that the axle-to-body mounting point could have moved back? Are they adjustable?

The axle looks fine to me, just had a good look, but the mounting point on the nearside is about 5mm further back than the offside one.

Only just got around to looking into this, Ive stripped down the rear near side to see if anything is obviously bent but I cant see anything.

If it is bent it must be a tiny amount, but the wheel is at least 1inch inthe wrong place in the arch.
