Just started re-recording the whole thing. Got rid of the crackles from the guitar.

Best part though, Ive wrote an electric guitar solo for it, and Im seriously pissing myself with how good it sounds.

Ill do vocals later ,think Ill try doing them totally differently as this solo has put the song on its head.

For anyone familiar with Gary Moores Parisenne Walkways, this is similar, finger picking guitar backing along with a sad emotional solo.

I cant play for sh*t so what can I say :) a bit of a long intro.

EVERYONE says my intros and outros are too long, truth be told, I just like playing the guitar more than anything :)

Screw singing....  Really, the only reason I try and sing is because no one better has offered and I have lyrics that I want to put with my pieces.

Ill upload this new instrumental with the solo, I think it conveys more emotion than the one with me singing.

Here it is guys, same backing, this time guitar solo, not vocals.

Nothing too fancy, wanted to convey emotion more than sound like Van Halen.

Let me know what you think, not too over the top?

The recording is poor but I think the playing is pretty good tbh

Do you mean because of the buzzing?   Think its because Im playing too near my pc and the guitar picks up all the emitions from my monitor

Got another track Im working on now, need to decide on lyrics for it, if any.

But got a rythm and lead guitar.

Get a guitar lead that can plug into a 1.5inch jack.

So normal guitar lead with 3.5 inch plug, with a 1.5inch plug on the other end.

Plug it straight into your computer and then you can use loads of software like revalver and stuff. :)

Already got that :D

What software should I use for doing guitar effects?

Walrusbonzo

Thanks for all your help guys.  Did exactly what you said and I think the vocal is 10 times better.

Will upload it in a sec minus guitar solo as it TOTALLY does not go with the vocal, so Ill re-record the solo with the vocal playing now, will be a better cue for when to actually play :D

Sounds like some bit of your setup is being overloaded on that.

The dual guitar is much better.

redneck

willy strip it down. remember every effect is an audio filter. takes away the tone of the guitar :)

i still havent heard it.

Ok ok, youre probably all getting sick of me and my music downloads.

But here is the final version of No Turning Back at least until I get a recording contract, LOL.

Same backing as before, new better vocal, and a new solo to go with the vocal.  Its not 100%, but Im not going to waste time working on it now.  I have a ton of other songs I need to get through.

Ive used absolutely no software effects on any of it.  Its the song in its raw format.

Serious,as for the overloading my system, if you are referring to the lead guitar, it is deliberately overdriven to sound like that, it was the effect I wanted.

Voice part has improved quite a bit, less faltering, just needs work to get it to hit the right notes :)

Not so fussed on the overdriven guitar... just seems like it belongs in a rock song not a ballad. :)

Sounds like an eels song, but you need to just have a cleaner singer :) no offense Will :) fairly normalish lyrics (to be expected... for this type of song :)) the guitar needs working on I think, seems a bit.. er bitty :D but I think your more of a writer than a performer.

Also you finish with an imperfect cadence yet about 10 seconds before it you pause after a perfect cadence...

Songs are really meant to sound better with perfect cadence at the end unless your going for something completely abstract.

you can go perfect-imperfect-perfect to build up to an ending though :)
