Well, after lots of saving and buying new mods for my car, I finally got them on at the beginning of last week. I fitted some, and got my local garage to fit some, as things werent accessible for me, like the exhaust manifold etc.

My current mods are:
3inch stainless de-catted exhaust, inc up and down pipe (2.5inch centre)
HKS FPR
Walbro Fuel Pump
NGK PFR 7B Plugs
GFB Quickshift
Hybrid FMIC with CAIK
750cc Flow Matched Injectors
AVCR Boost Controller
MD321T Turbo (Ceramic Coated)
Silicone Turbo Intake Pipe, with No breathers
RCM Headers and Up-Pipe (wrapped)
remap by JGM (ECUTek)

Suspension Modifications:
BC Coilovers
Whiteline ALK
Whiteline ARB
Whiteline Drop Links
Geometry Setup
Eagle F1s

We mapped it on the road, as in my opinion this is a lot better than being on a Dyno. Simon was a bit concerned that the injectors would be too big with me only having the ECUTek, but he worked his magic and they are perfect.

On the Road Dyno program we managed 432BHP @ 6500RPM and 375LbFt @ 5230RPM That is running at 1.6bar, peaking to 1.7.

I will go on a Rolling Road as well very shortly to see how accurate the Road Dyno Program is. Although Simon did say the majority of the time it is, but obviously rolling roads all differ.

great numbers.

that software should be reasonably accurate. its using the sensors in the engine to tell it what level of fuel and air its consuming, what ratio is actually burnt to work out what amount of power its pushing. its all about the power available to the amount of fuel consumed and the efficiency of the burn gives an output.

Yeah, the mapper did say he does think it is accurate. But obviously didnt want me going to some sh*te rolling road and being disappointed.

Its so true, and quite dissapointing, but i suppose the RRs that massage the figures to make everyone have more power than they really do will get more custom. So in the end I guess its us as the consumers that are at fault

There should be some rule about them to be honest! I know Dyno Dynamic are good Rolling Roads, but then they still need calibrating properly.

Mark

you cant map the ignition properly on the road, because you cannot hold a load and speed site. But you get a better feel for how its running

You do a map on the road, and fine tune for boost and the ignition map on the RR

Any rolling road can be fiddled to read whatever the customer wants to see. Sometimes its just a matter of adjusting air temp correction.

Id be interested to see the difference in what he gave you and a real rolling road.

Your next step should be better turbo, and real aftermarket ECU. Solaris or Autronic maybe.

chrisdicko

That is a good turbo ;)

But yeah, next I will be getting a Simtek or Solaris. Although the Solaris is probably a bit OTT.

I personally think Road mapping is better. Me and my mate have exactly the same car, except he has the Solaris, and mine feels better to drive, and even he admitted it was faster. His was mapped on the Rollers.
