Iv fallen for the temptation..

Stuck my 350D kit on ebay, if i get it sold (buy it now) ill be getting a 450D body. I cant really afford to but the extra features and quality are just too tempting..

Binary Shadow

Damnit!

Well it sold, buy it now already, but.. the buyer is in the US and i didnt offer international shipping..

Now what?

Binary Shadow

Not gonna happen really is it

XEntity

Hell send you the freshly ironed monies

knighty

doesent matter if you wernt fussed about selling it quick...

find out the postage cost, then overcharge him, and then wait for 2 weeks after receving the money before you post ;)

(might be a good idea not to tell him about the 2 weeks)

Binary Shadow

heh yeah i guess i could do that, but i started to cancel the transaction already. just need 7 days of no reply or the user to say sure and its all over and i can try again (blocking bidders outside the UK)

Binary Shadow

Well i ordered my 450D, will sell the 350D as soon as i can. Hope the new camera is as good as i think itll be. Thinking of getting the battery grip for it as well.

edit: gone pro on flickr as well and uploaded a shed load of photos

Binary Shadow

Oh yes! 450D is here, and its epic, i need a faster SD card though, other than that its sweeeeeeeeet! Im sure ill be posting some 12MP photos soon, since i still have the 350D i may do a comparison shot

well no response from buyer so case closed with my fee credited, relisted now UK only buyers.

I bought an 8Gb class 6 (133x) SDHC card in the end, was £17 or something from 7 day shop, seems ok now.

Serious

I tend to suggest 4-8gb cards as the extra capacity means less swapping

Binary Shadow

Yeah i generally never take it out of the camera, over 1000 shots is more than enough

whereas I go for lots of small cards because when one fails you dont loose as many photos.

both routes have their merits.

Edit: I see you already bought an 8GB class 6 card, should do the job nicely, now get snapping!!

zpyder

Not trying to pick a fight or anything, but in regards to lots of small cards vs 1 big card, I guess the question is how often does a card fail? and does having several cards of lower capacity increase the risk of losing one?

Would be interesting to try and quantify the "lost images" over time for both approaches to figure out which is better :D
