Ive been looking round a couple of derelict houses that are coming up for auction soon with the intention of doing them up.
Armed with my camera, to take pictures of it all I accidentally took this:

If the houses need that much work, I wouldnt bother!

Hmm, not to be a stuck up photography snob, but Im not too keen. Obviously if you like it its all that matters, but I can see why you like it, but also think it could be better. Its a shame it wasnt dusty to get sunbeams coming through, and its a bit blurry, but otherwise its cool!

On acebook someone visited my old school, which has been derelict for about 8 years now, pretty spooky!

A lot of work but could become a bewty

Ive surveyed some derelict buildings over the years, they can be really interesting. Zpyders comment made me think of a city centre comprehensive I once did a site check on which had obviously been closed somewhat unexpectedly. Still had timetables and excersise books all over the place as if the students were coming back tomorrow, except the dates on all the callendars were about 5 years old. Spooky!

Whilst out fieldworking today I was walking down a path in a forest, slightly too narrow for a car, and came across a small abandoned house. Must have only been abandoned a few years, most of the windows were broken, a few had been partially boarded up. It was pretty surreal as the garden plants could be seen spotted throughout the grass, and there was an element of the garden escaping and the forest encroaching.

It also made you stop and think why the house was abandoned, and why no one had moved in. Access issues aside, Id imagine such a rural house would be worth a crapload.
