As ever with these stories, same with the bloke finding the shotgun the other day, theres generally more to it than reported in the ridiculous rag chosen to link...

Sounds like this guy defended himself then proceeded to kick the sh*t of the burglar... theres a line and sounds like he crossed it.

I actually feel more sorry for this guy than the numpty with the shotgun, as I guess when it comes to criminals Im a bit more right-wing in terms of punishment.

If someone threatened to kill my family which had been tied up whilst holding a knife Id class killing the fecker as self defence, even if hes incapacitated well before the killing blow. I mean, depending on the person they might just come back to finish the job if you dont :|

Sure a line has been crossed and maybe what he did is a bit extreme, but Im also guessing every single victim of a violent crime/burglary is on Hussains side on this one.

You could also argue that in the case of the criminal that was on the receiving end, his previous 50 convictions did nothing to stave his criminal actions, but Im guessing this will have :|

"Justice" failed 53 times prior to this event.

Think its the fact that it wasnt in the home, they chased one of them down and 2 guys beat the living sh*t out of him. Still dont like the fact they got 30 months, thats a long f**king time.

What more was there to the bloke finding the shotgun story?

QuoteSalem was left with a permanent brain injury after he was struck with a cricket bat so hard that it broke into three pieces.

Good. Maybe his half-a-brain now turned quarter-brain will mean hes no longer able to commit another 50 criminal offences.

White Giant

If someone ties up my family, they will suffer.

My home is my castle, simple as.

knighty

the important thing to learn from this is....

when you chase and catch the guy who just held you and your family hostage, and break a cricket bat over his head.... make sure no-one can see you ?

Sam

I dont think anyone would have minded him slapping the burglar around a bit but to beat him black and blue with hockey sticks and bats is a bit overkill.

Theres a fine line, and if you go too far you can end up like crazy Texas.

The fact he wandered into the local station and started pulling a shotgun out of his dufflebag without mentioning maybe... to me this seems like a fairly high-risk approach.

I would love to see how the judge would have reacted in the same situation pumped full of adrenaline the same as the family in question here, regardless,

Witnesses said they saw the burglar being beaten while he lay on the ground, with weapons including a cricket bat, a pole and a hockey stick.

If this is true, then yes as Sam says, they went too far. Theres a difference between beating someone up and public flogging, several people, regardless of the circumstances cannot stand over someone on the floor and hit them with a variety of weapons without expecting some kind of consequences.

zpyder

Pat on the back?

Im sure the crooks wouldnt have expected any consequences had they gotten away with tying the family up and no doubt beating some of them to find out where the valuables were at the very least. Would have thought the kind of people willing to wear masks and tie a family up are also likely to kill them to cover their tracks...

addictweb

Sad this had to happen, but it does sound like the guys went too far with the beatings sadly.

I cant say i wouldnt do the same but once the crim is incapacitated you need to stop otherwise its changes to an assult.

Justice failes again as the two other ciminals havent been caught, so some might say its a good job the did chase this one down and catch him.
