First problem with the Avensis sadly

In the icey weather my screen wash froze up quite a bit but would always come back after a bit. I tried not to hammer the pump while it was frozen to look after it. Its now not working and it cant be frozen still (7% and still nothing after an hour drive). Just been having a play in the car park and every now and again itll give out a squirt (no jokes!). It was hard to tell but I dont think the pump could be heard when it wasnt working - think it just sort of kicked in every now and again.

Is this a garage job for a new pump? Any idea how much thats likely to cost?

Basically I cant hear the pump - but then every now and again youll hear the pump go and itll give a quick squirt just for a moment. Im thinking its either clogged or the pumps died?

Happened on my car, I pulled the hose off as close to the bottle as possible and blow down it towards the jets. Also disconnect the hose and press the windscreen wash button to see if it does pump water out. Again nearer the pump the better to test.

and stick a load mroe screen wash in too.... the last stuff I used recomended 20% down to -10C..... but needed mroe like 50% to stop it from freezing...

The vinegars started coming through now - you can smell it when the odd squirt comes out. Going to top it up again tonight with more vinegar and more wash. Hopefully itll free up - if not Ill just garage it. I dont have the time to fiddle with it.

mines f**ked too, think the pump has frozen. Also its a complete arse to do on a 206 cause i cant reach the washer bottle from the engine bay, and underneath has plastic panneling you have to take off to reach anything

if you get it working.... even if its just a dribble... why not pour a kettle of boiling water into the screen wash bottle.... keep squirting till its clear... squirt till the bottle is empty, then fill it up with fresh water and lots of screen wash ?  (and squirt a bit more till it comes through?)

Vinegar helps remove any potential blockage - hard to tell really but I think it has freed it up a bit. Hot water is a good idea but the things pretty full at the minute. Mines a f*cker to get at as well hence why Im not taking it off.
