Loving the first disc on an initial listen. Its a definite grower.

Hopefully the second will build on it :)

The digipack isnt half bad either.

What was the difference between the 2CD & 2CD Digipack anyway? ROFL at the Ã,£45 DVD edition.

My dads ordered a copy.

Clock'd 0Ne

Bugger all, the only difference is one is in a digipack and the other is standard jewel case. Maybe the insert is slightly different, but I doubt it. The one I have is just fancy cardboard packaging.

Ã,£45 for some marbles and a pretty case is nuts, especially when you only get a 1 hour dvd interview extra and no other new material.

The Greatest Hits DVD was rammed with content and didnt cost much more than the standard edition.

Stateside, Amazons got the plain 2CD set for $12. Now thats a fair price.

Almost through disc 1, its a five star record so far. :w00t:

Its been a long time since Blood Sugar Sex Magic, and the reviewers that lament that this disk doesnt sound like it are idiots. SA is sounding grown up, funky, eerily prog-rockish, and downright anthemic.

John Frusciantes back, and its not only his playing thats just brought it all back together, its his and Keidiss harmonies. What gawdang awesome solos to boot! :D

Keidis is singing like a real live singer now, better than hes ever been.

Not finished with it yet, but they may have pulled off the impossible: releasing the usual white elephant of a double album 20 years into a career--but this time theyre totally on top of their game. Possibly the best record from RHCP ever.

A tidbit, the album was recorded completely analog on tape, which gives it such a "creamy" sound due to various things such as the natural compression, and thus is easier on the ears and more condusive to immersion.

Walrusbonzo

Bought it yesterday.

Only listened to some of the 1st CD, so far I think its better than By The Way and Californication.  But Im not sure if it beats BSSM, OHM or Freaky Styley.

Im very impressed, it will definitely grow on me. I was worried it would become tiring halfway through Mars, but not at all. Great stuff!
