My car reached is decent milestone today. couldnt resist taking a picture, obviously I took the pic on my private road  :ptu: .

Im pretty sure the car will do alot more miles without many issues in the future, in fact it still drives better than my brand new MG ZS mk2 did.

Although Ive been doing a surprising amount of miles lately.
This was taken @ 31st Aug09 on the way back from my honeymoon.

my old diesel passat 1996 TDI

soon hitting 370000 kilometers

370000 km = 229907.341 m

Two of the Mondeos Ive had Ive taken from 0 - 120,000 miles.

mr_roll

Nice one.

Mine screwed up on 166,600 miles

I got my pug when it was on 86K > 115K, my 1st Volvo got stuck on 192192, my 2nd volvo was sold at 268,000 and now my beemers gone at 166,600 miels.

I think insurance should be calculated upon how many miles youve driven without an accident that is your fault.
I mean if you park up and some one drives into you its not your fault.

My old Pug 205 1995 only had 71K on the clock, when I got rid of it I only covered it up to 77K, still being used today as far as I know. My 02 Fiesta covered 55K when I got it a year ago and has nearly covered 65K now, hopefully going to get rid of it soon and get a 1.9 TDi VW Bora which will most likely have around 100K on the clock as most have that sort of mileage on them  :)

look out with the 1.9TDi VW engines, the turbos have a nasty habit of dying around 70-100K miles. This recently happened to my Dads, apparently according to various garages its reasonably common particularly in cars which dont do many miles. If you do buy one, make sure you give it a good blast on the test drive, Dads turbo would cut out if you took it much above 3000RPM.

Dad ended up part-exing his because the next option to fix it (having spent a few hundred already) was a new turbo at a cost of ~£1000 with no gaurantee that would fix it.

lovely car when it was working, but its last few months were a nightmare.
