Decided to go for 50/50 water/meth injection to allow me to run more timing, and additionally to cool the inlet temps. Got the meth from a chemical distributor in Belfast.

Whilst recently whupping some lexus on the motorway - an IS-F - inlet temps went to over 55 degrees. I was expecting this as my setup is for drag use mostly.

I have started to fab up a reverse scoop for the underside of the boot where the intercooler is, but in the mean time, I went for an AEM water/meth injection kit.

To say the meth makes a difference is a massive understatement, I thought my knock detection was broken as I was able to add so much more timing. Inlet temps are super cool now, even on a long boost.

This is where I am mounting the controller. The long wire is for the LED thats on the dash that is now wired up.

wow....55+c is pretty dam hot after your inter-cooler etc...

what sort of boost are you running at how / how much pressure on the wi pump ?


Ive seen a few people experimenting with wi hoping to stop ring gumming running veg oil....  cant deny it looks like it temporally fixes problems for some people.... but don;t really think of it as a long term fix.... more or a quick steam clean for already buggered rings...

up to 2.1 bar so far, and the water/meth gets injected at 10 bar pressure.

Makes a huge difference on a petrol motor - the water is to reduce knock and temps, the meth ups the effective octane of the petrol.

When you inject water doesnt it also expand in the cylinder to give a bit of steam power ?

Yes, its supposed to raise cylinder pressure as well

When this meths kicks in, youre going to see some serious sh*t.
