Its a huge mixed bag, tbh, the demand has been massive though but to be honest more than anything I think it just means more people out there are interested in taking a punt buying domains.

Heres a question...which is better, or at least the least lame? www.muddy-boots.net or www.muddyboots.co

I own both, Ive been wanting to get away from the zpyder.co.uk domain for a while as Id like to have a *slightly* more professional domain for work and as a portfolio site. Its a PITA having to say "Its zed-pee-why-dee-eee-argh", and given that generally I am a practical fieldworker, muddyboots fits quite well without being uber boring or uber silly. Its annoying that the best versions are taken but seemingly inactive

I think the hyphen makes more of a difference Id say the get the .co in that instance. Id still buy whichever is cheaper though.

If Im being particularly pernickety then muddyboots.co sounds slightly quirkier and cuter than muddy-boots.net.

Plus its short and sweet when saying over the phone, rather than "muddy-hyphen-boots dot net" Cool, cheers guys.

If you say muddybootsco without saying .co first, so just say muddybootsco, it sounds like youre the muddyboots corporation and makes sense, then say muddybootsDOTco is your address.

Or er, something like that    

As has been said, avoid hyphenation if possible. Also avoid bad spelling and very_quirky_names.com

Also make sure it somehow links with what the site is about, the stronger the link the better...
