Am having some network issues trying to set up media streaming to my PS3... and falling at the first hurdle.

Have a hauwei HG521 from talktalk... my issue is this:

Even with windows firewall turned off on all pcs and router firewall turned off, none of the pcs on the LAN can see each other, not even ping. Any ideas what Im doing wrong here? Have spent hours googling and fiddling and is driving me up the wall :(

are all the ip addresses in the same range ?

ie.  192.168.0.XXX ?

wired, or wireless ?

shouldnt effect the ping, but all the PCs need to be in the same workgroup to see each other in workgroup

BigSoy

yep, all in same range, same subnet 255.255.255.0.

can you not ping anything at all ?  or does the router respond ?

BigSoy

That seemed to work slightly more consistently - thanks egg - has given up again now. Am starting to suspect it may be the awfulness of the talktalk router thatll need to go in the bin.
