Google mail was all about the archive rather then delete, i have only noticed today that recently they have finally given a delete mail option for normal mail as well as further increasing your account as a package offering more then just mail and linking it more with other google features.

Question i want to know is:

I did not read any news about it and why they finally added, was it pressure from users?

Sounds like a question you should ask them TBH

AH, cheers. The Archive button was the "delete" which is what (when reading this) is what it ment and where it goes and what happens to them.

So this and probably others forced google to have a proper deletion of emails then.

Cheers

Delete buttons been there a few months along with the archive, which just takes it out of the immediate in box is all. As much storage as they offer, theres still some dreck you dont want in your archive. :P

Im still hooked on Gmail. You couldnt get me back on the IMAP or POP teat again.

Thats googles blog about the delte buttons (2 months ago)

Didnt have anything todo with the court case AFAIK it was just feedback from users. There was a deelete button before but you had to click the drop down menu and click move to trash, which is far to much effort.. :P

They changed the words "move to trash" to "delete" in the gmail interface about 3 months before they made a button with it on.

Pissed me off no end as I had trained myself to use "move to trash" so took bloody ages to realise I wasnt looking for "move to trash" but "delete" in that damn drop down menu.

Dont think the court case has anything to do with it at all tbh.
