Ok... this one is really starting to irritate me now. Can't for the life of me work out why this fscking badger won't work.

Am trying to connect my desktop PC to a Netgear DGN2200 wireless router using the standard Linksys WUSB54G adapter thingy. Has always worked without a hitch in the past...

The annoying thing is that every other device in the building, another 4 laptops, HTC Desire, an iPhone all seem to work out of the box. For some reason, my pc refuses to even see the SSID of the network. Have tried manually entering settings etc... when it seems to have connect, looks to pick up an IP address but then never properly connects.

Extremely frustrating!

basic point and I'm sure you've already thought of it, but have you tried fiddling with the orientation of the antenna on your PC? that seems to help when my desktop decides wireless is beneath it.

I hate wireless.  If the PC doesn't move then it should be cabled.

Don't want to hear can't, B*llocks to can't.

wireless to every machine in damn near every room all on one crappy BT homehub - NEVER had a single issue in about 6 years!!
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

Trapeze MX-8 controller and 2 x MP-432 (dual 3x3 MIMO) and 2 x MP-82 (Dual 3x2 MIMO) access points. I can even issue wireless access vouchers to guests.

Will never have another cable in the house! All lab gear though, no way I'd have bought that for home.

Added advantage is the countermeasures I run against my neighbours so their wireless can't work because their kids pissed me off.

Haha I was with some guys once who did that with some Madge kit at a trade show. Cisco were in the middle of an Aironet demo to about 100 delegates and they just blocked their connectivity! Took them about 20 minutes to figure out who'd done it - you had to laugh!

Have you considered a faulty wireless module?
