Anyone seen this yet?
I saw it today and enjoyed it but it wasnt anything special. It started very slow and seem to jump from scene to scene pretty randomly also it gave me a head ache at the beginning because of how dark it was and the rubbish 3D, another thing that annoys me is how the Marvel movies try to merge into one, there where a couple of mentions of Iron Man in it and sheild, stark etc but it is just half baked and doesnt make much sense.

It is defo worth a watch though and has potential for some good future films.

I would say, if you have the choice dont bother with 3d as it is obviously post'added and is mostly blury but I havent seen a film yet that I think 3d has added anything extra to it.

Maybe it is just my eyes but 3d films seem to lose their sharpness, I prefer a high res 2d pic over a blury 3d one.
Watching football has been my only WOW moment with 3D.

7/10 from me.

I do not watch movies in 3D. Your viewing focus is too central and you loose the edges / backdrop of the movie where things do happen. Darker too.

Enjoyed the movie as well - nothing special but enjoyed it.

The Iron man etc references were in the last hulk movie and will be in the next, Iron man, Thor, Shield and there will be a scene in Captain America too because...
The Avengers is a movie which IS happening and will have them all in it.

also the guy that had the crossbow on the crane was an Avenger, I didnt realise untill I looked it up after the film.

saw it in 2D, again i agree it wasnt much special but i enjoyed the ride (and chris hemsworth shirtless )

Had to go out of my way to find somewhere doing it in 2d. Saw it last week and as most other have said it wasn't anything special but I enjoyed it enough

This is one of those comic book rides that is supposed to be nothing more then it is. Some acting could be better, portman was not at her best but the movie at a whole was worth going to see.

Would the guy with the bow be Hawkeye?

I enjoyed the film a lot. Had to watch it in 3D, sadly, due to crap viewing times and having to plan it all around the family.

Yeah, I do not think you would see ant man or wasp as they bit crappy really to work in a movie. Maybe a hot women for wasp they could pull off.
Wolverine was with them at one point so after Wolverine 2 maybe he could do avengers 2, lol.

Wolverine can't be in the Avengers because 20th Century Fox own the rights to the charachter on the big screen. Sadly a lot of the big charachters are owned by different studios, they tried to get a nod to Spiderman in the most recent Hulk film but Sony Columbia said no. I think Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, and a few others are owned by other studios so we won't ever be seeing them in crossovers.

Besides, the Avengers is probably going to kill the superhero genre off. I'm surprised it has carried on for so long actually, and I think people are losing patience with the endless reboots. Spiderman getting a reboot, Hulk being rebooted (although that's no bad thing, the Ang Lee one was rubbish), Superman being rebooted after they have already just rebooted it, and Batman due for another reboot once the Chris Nolan trilogy comes to an end. It's all getting silly. The Avengers is far too grandiose with too many stories and too any charachters all trying to share the lime-light. My money is on it failing horribly, although I'd love to be wrong.

They are seriously considering this as a good idea? WTF? I mean how can they honestly expect to near the high standard set by Nolan with his series of films, it's utterly incredible that they could even conceive that this would go down well. Then they wonder while film sales globally are plumetting...

Exactly. I think (quite rightly) they've pretty much decided that Chris Nolan's trilogy is untouchable gold that can't be re-cast or similar, but DC are desperate to do what Marvel are doing with the Avengers and do a Justice League movie/series or similar, so they need to reboot Batman and Superman so that they can make them all fit in the same universe.

It's a shame the people in Hollywood don't fit in the same universe as the rest of us.

Finally got around to seeing this and was pleasantly surprised. Only Kenneth Branagh could have pulled off something as camp as that without making it seem completely and painfully cheesy. Enjoyable action sequences, some good comedy, a strong cast throughout. Probably one of the better superhero origins type stories I've seen.
