I'm working with the event organiser for a fete type of thing that is due to be held in 2012. She'd like to have the event streamed live via a webcam onto the events website firstly, obviously this is easy enough.

She's also requested that certain interviews and activities that take place be streamed live as they take place rather than filmed and uploaded straight away. It's this bit I'm having problems with; I don't suppose anyone can point me in the right direction regarding exactly what would be needed to sort this out? The premise seems simple enough but there are a million and one options out there ranging from the cheap and cheerful to the ridiculously expensive, does anyone have any experience with this?

Another thing I'm wondering about is bandwidth. As it's still early days I'm not sure if the venue has a decent net connection. Obviously with a simple webcam filming from overhead you can get away a decent 3G signal on a dongle and a laptop but once you get into streaming live events and suchlike I imagine a good fixed connection would be needed?
