So I was going to buy 2 ATi 6970's for my new PC that I'm building, but I was a bit low on money at the time and decided to wait a month or so before taking the plunge (this was about a month ago)

So yesterday I go onto the Ebuyer website, where last month I had 2 ATi 6970's in my basket at like £260 each and I discover that Ebuyer no longer sell the 6970, only the 6950, which I did not want. Where the f**k have all the 6970's gone? I mean I've looked at other websites and they seem to have disappeared too. If anyone can shed some light on this, please do. Alternatively you can also tell me which card available now that is as good as or (preferably) better than the 6970

I dunno. Some have them, some don't have them. Most of the shops that do have them tho have like a 4 week lead time on them.
I think I'm just gonna have to wait it out, if in a couple of weeks Ebuyer still don't have them i'll probably get my new PC from somewhere else, as I want to get everything from the same website and I usually get everything from ebuyer since Sam stopped owning tekheads.

I would assume a 4 week lead time is non confirmed and just standard procedure, my guess is they won't be back in stock and are either being revised or discontinued.

Perhaps Sam or someone could confirm if i'm right or wrong. :P

A quote from HardOCP

QuoteI spoke with two manufacturers of video cards about this situation, both of which wish to remain anonymous. They gave the same answer. The reason for the lack of product on shelves is not one of demand. So basically bitcoin miners have not purchased every single card on the market (unlike the HD 5830, which is a favorite of the group). The problem is supply. AMD has not supplied these manufacturers with enough HD 6970 chips to address the actual demand.

Don't hold your breath!
