Thermaltake - Toughpower Grand 750W - TPG-750M - PSU, also a Thermaltake keyboard and mouse




All sitting in a CoolerMaster HAF 922



The cases doesnt come with a side fan, so I will be getting a Cooler Master Megaflow 200mm Blue LED Fan, to mix up the colours, it will have x6 fans intotal

x3 : 200mm Fans; Front(red), Top(red), Side(blue)
x2 : 120mm Fans;  On the CPU cooler(green)
x1 : 120mm Fan; Rear(standard)






last thing is a Asus Xonar D2X - Sound Card


and some speakers 5.1 surrond speakers (wooden subwoofer)

Personally I'd scrap the soundcard as most onboard is very good these days, unless you have audiophile ears and reference quality speakers you'll not notice any difference. I'd spend the money switching to an Intel i5 setup! (FWIW I have an ESI Juli@ professional soundcard, I wouldn't bother with a consumer level product for the money)

The graphics card is a great choice in terms of bang for buck (got one myself). Not so sure on the Thermaltake PSU as I've no experience of them, I'd personally recommend Corsair PSUs as they are made by Seasonic so are efficient and reliable.

Mouse and keyboard are quite a personal choice, again I'd be going for something Logitech branded but that's just me.

I got a PSU, with in mind the idea of upgrade to crossfire maybe.

the keyboard and mouse just kinda happened after I decided on the PSU, its the first time I payed more than a £5 for a mouse or keyboard

I maybe went over with the soundcard, but never had one so just went for it

So how much of this kit have you already got/ordered and how much is yet to be ordered?

Also, I just realised you don't mention storage anywhere. If you don't have one then you want an SSD, seriously. It is the single best hardware choice you will make compared to getting a standard HDD.

i got some bits that i didnt mention already;

HDD, DVD drive, speakers, soundcard, and the case.

I done big order tonight, its been a while since my PC gave up.

I did want SSD, but i got pretty standard HDD and DVD drive, SSD is expensive for not alot of gigs, but this should change in the not to distance future,

and as I like to record and movie game movies with fraps, i just got pretty normal basics

I'd disagree.  I've used both on-board and add on soundcards, and the difference is night and day.

The Asus Xonar DG is excellent for £20.

If that is how much it is then fair enough, I assumed it was a £100+ affair

yeh i figured having a card specifically for sound has to make a difference.

and i love dubstep and lot of music so i really wanna hear music as well as i can.

I got my sound card off tekheads so it was a prober investment, but I have seen it else where for about £80

so it was a pretty penny to get, but i am very much looking forward to listening to it doing it thing

No such thing as dubstep, it's just drum and bass at the wrong speed

Get a set of Logitech THX 2.1s for the music, you will be amazed! I'm still using the ones i bought years ago (a lot of us bought them), and i mostly listen to Dubstep and DNB
