I've got my adsl with talk talk, originally tiscali and it has pretty much been 100% stable for the 5years I've had it. It isn't super fast or anything as we live in the middle of nowhere and are miles away from an exchange so I am happy enough with 2.5Meg.

On monday BT phoned me up and told me how crap my internet was and they could give me alot more speed (6meg, I dont know how they will manage that as my router syncs at 2500kbps on adsl2+) and be better in everyway to talk talk, they where really really anti my current isp.

Anyway I politely told them I was happy enough with what I have and doubted that they could offer the speed they are claiming.

Since that phone call my internet has been really flakey. It is fine when it is working but it randomly only half loads pages and half loads pictures now, it also takes a good few seconds from clicking a link for it to start loading.

Anyone think it is possible bt are trying to sabotage my connection?

The best thing you could do with be to give TalkTalk some stick, see what they say about it, they control the lines though unlike most ADSL providers which need you to go through BT for line provision.

It just doesn't happen.  It's just coincidence.

It's like when you ring to complain about a fault and your line gets better, then worse again.
The ISP doesn't have a magic "Lets piss off the customer" button

It could be that BT are proactively marketing to people on your exchange and as a result have been doing lots of work in your exchange, more connections, careless engineers or the higher resultant bandwidth requirements or the exchange could be to blame for your worse service.

Ringing tqlk talk will do no good. As good as Dave in Delhi intentions are I doubt this problem will be on his script and I'll just get charged for an engineer call out again.
