No, this isn't video of third world war victims thrown out of their homes by fighting, it's Americans thrown out of housing due to debt and lack of work. So many don't have work that the benefits system seems to have broken down almost completely.

The youtube vids appear to have been uploaded years ago?

Even so.. its a properly rubbish state of affairs.

There was an article on the BBC about it a few days ago, it's an ongoing problem that is getting worse.

There isn't enough money to support them and there have been video reported instances of families there having to eat rat in order to help them survive. How reliable the video was I've no idea but as said above it was shown on the BBC. Others spend months living in their vehicle having had their home repossessed.

No surprise to have the 'American dream' someone is normally on the poor side and others are earning more than most dream of.

Not sure about eating rats but in the swamp area people eat alsorts of creatures.

the american dream is exactly that. A dream.
you can be the rag to riches person,
you can be anyone who can have anything & everything...But for that you either suck cock or are darn lucky.
More than likely your living in slum/project or (id preffer) in a trailer park as white trash.

I have been to both Moscow & Los Angeles- Apart from the weather, there isnt much
to choose between to both in regards to standard of living. Both places have a big gulf earnings
between the rich & poor in both cities. Moscow for example had 2 cars - Mercs & Lada's.
The lada drives would take you anywhere in the city for a fiver - handy when drunk - the mercs
wouldnt even break when your crossing the street.

LA was a very mixed bag  - we went on a bus trip to Universal studios, speaking to the bus driver
he earned a basic salary of $600 a month & his cost of living was $1000 a week - he said he relies heavily on tips.
Apart from driving a bus 30 hours a week he had 2 other jobs. No idea how much his other jobs paid, but
as you can see his monthly basic from bus driving didnt even cover his living expense for 1 week.

For many the american dream is just that, but they can go to bed every night dreaming that dream.
in russia, there is no chance - unless you born with a talent or gift, your destiny is basically the same
as your parents.

Maybe out of cities are better if you can live without the luxuries that have today become a necessiery today.
No idea why everyone heads for the big cities. Opportunites are scarse, everything is more expensive & people
are more unfriendly.

At least in america you can have that dream - its kind of similar to a religion isnt it?

when there is 150million people living in a country, its quite easy to ignore a very small decimal of 1% of that - especially when no children are involved

I saw a video of a girl on the BBC, looked about six, said her mom had fed them rat once.

How true her statement was I don't know, she might have been lying for the cameras, but the situation for some in the US looks dire.
