We are wanting to buy a camera at work...one to take pictures, so really any camera would do, but also to capture high speed video, to enable us to see what the packing machine is actually doing as it is running at 120 bags/minute so it is quite hard to see the timings etc. I spoke to a friend who works in a printing factory which is also high speed, and they said they looked at £10k camera etc, but trialled a Casio Exilim EX-FH25, and found it did exactly what they needed.

So, we would like one too, but it seems you cannot buy one anywhere in the UK?! Does anyone know where I can buy one, OR an equivalent model which has very good high speed capture?

Thanks a lot

Cheers guys, but.... :)

Bear, that link isn't for the EX-FH25, it is just a EX-H5.

Binary, we cannot buy off ebay as it is work related. Plus it's from Japan. I'd rather pay more and get it from the UK if possible.

That "EX-FH25 is capable of capturing slow-motion video at up to 1,000fps" is why we want it really. Plus it will give us a decent camera to take pics of crappy machinery too

Looks like this does the same and is easier to find Casio-EX-FH100

Have you considered going to a Casio distributor or shop that can order it from a disty or source?

Amazon have someone listing the silver FH100 for £399 but thats it, I can't see the FH25 anywhere

I know Kathryns Fuji HS20 can do 320fps but the resolution is very low (supsect the same of the casio tbh)

yeah,  i think it was 228 x 64 at 1000 fps

edit: 224 x 64 @ 1000 fps

Cheers guys :)

Do you think the FH 100 looks like it is as good as capturing the high speed/slow mo video?

Or does anyone know of an actualy hand held video recorder? I'd rather it a normal camera, with video cababilities, but if I have to, I could buy a video recorder with the high speed/slow motion recording.

Thanks

EDIT: Just looking at the FH100, and to be honest it looks like it does the same as the FH25? But probably better?

zpyder

Does it need to be a Casio? The fps may be better but if you want high quality stills and awesome macro shots the fuji bridges are good...

knighty

do you need it permanently or just for a week or two ?

I've got a sony full HD camcorder and I'm pretty sure it does high speed... can't check right now because I let it to my niece...

I can find out tomorrow for you, and then you're welcome to borrow it if it's any good ?  it should be better than a camera etc... ?

chrisdicko

Wow, thanks Knighty! That's very nice of you.

BUT, I ordered the FH100 today on the company credit card :) So we will see how it performs. I can always slow the video down slightly in VLC Player

Cheers everyone :)
