And finally got round to uploading another of the star trails shots as a video onto youtube:

Finally go myself out doing some seascapes/landscapes again last night after a few weeks of trying to get some wildlife shots and not doing very well at it.

Haven't really got much to show, last few weeks I've tried to do some wildlife shots but haven't exactly got anything to show for it, did grab a seascape when I was out on Monday night though.

You're based "up north" aren't you now?

Early August I might be up Yorkshire/Hartlepool way if you fancied meeting up or something to do some photography?

Yeah I'm basically in Newcastle so basically an hour away by car, but definitely just let me know dates and where you'll be and we'll give it a go trying to organise something.

I'd be interested in seeing more of your UE shots if you're interested in doing them, it's a cool subject. Don't go getting yourself chased  by security/dogs or anything though ;D

Indeed, do you get permission or sneak in, there's a prime site near me but I've not had much luck getting a response from the owners. Might try the security contractors next!

Its quite good fun doing it, getting to go somewhere that other people don't, I'm hoping to visit a few locations over the next few weeks/months in prep for visiting them in the dark later in the year to do some wire wool/light painting stuff.  Or at least that's the idea anyway!

Haha yeah that wouldn't be good, especially as I'm really unfit at the mo!

So far I've just sneaked in, don't think there's anyone to get permission off for the last 2 places I've been in lol  Plus if you say you want to spin some burning wire wool around your head they might look at you a bit funny, I know most people I tell them do lol

When I was out the other day I went with a friend and another 2 guys both of which are much more experienced at doing light painting, this is one of the shots they did http://www.flickr.com/photos/fellwalker1/9266494940/

I've just put an order in for a remote controlled colour changing light bulb, some EL wire and I need to get myself some stuff to make an attachment for my drill... fun times ahead!

i live on a top site for UE, stick high royds into flickr and see what comes up. they're not far off finishing developing it now though.

Looks like it was really cool, in some way a shame that they are redeveloping it but its good that they put the old buildings to use rather than just pulling it all down and starting again.  Does look like there would be some cool wire wool spots especially those long corridors.
