For musicians the Atari had a MIDI interface, Amiga ones didn't work half as well IMO.

Had Commodore properly upgraded the Amiga they might still be here. It was certainly revolutionary when created but the suits that took over had no idea what they had or what to do with it. Surprisingly Jack Tramiel both founded Commodore and, after resigning due to a disagreement with Irving Gould, Atari.

The sweet thing about the MIDI interface is that later on some clever programmers worked out how to do networked gaming over the MIDI interface, they bought out an FPS shooter (that was actually good!) and you could 1-on-1 if you had a second Atari. I had 4 of the buggers 

Who was fecking around with Midi when you had James Pond, Lemmings, Fire & Ice, Pinball Dreams, Zool and my favourite Project-X, and before you say, these were all on Amiga first before being ported.

That's like arguing the SNES was better than the Mega Drive because it had Street Fighter 2 first. Makes sod all difference really given that most ports were exactly the same and most releases were at the same time.

my mate had an external  MIDI interface thingie that plugged into the back of an Amiga 500 or 1200 :-o

Ok so my initial argument was weak, how about the Atari was just crap!

PS Every knows SF2 was best on Snes, and Mega Drive had Streets of Rage

I had one too, didn't get a midi keyboard until after getting an Amiga, then a few months later found I had arthritic hands. So my dreams of becoming a world famous musician were dashed...

...My inability to remember the music had nothing to do with this. Plenty of musicians have problems remembering the music and with most rappers you wish they'd forget entirely ^.^

Played Silent Service 2 for months. It was very nasty on the PC.

I actually owned that and I must concede that it was a stinking pile of sh*te and a crime against Capcom

I think I'd actually forgotten just how bad it was until I watched that through, I can't believe I ever found it playable even as a child.
