promised guy next door to work I'll let him use my internet - save him getting a phone line in

he's out of range of wifi, I can run a cable to him, or a cable to a wifi access point

thing is, I don;t really want him / anyone he lets on his pc/wifi have access to my PCs over the network, plus cctv is on the same network

any clever tricks / easy ways I can lat him use my internet without compromising my security ?

Cheapest way would be software firewalls on *everything* using a VPN so comms is encrypted?

Going back a long way to remember this so there might be a better option.

Get DD-WRT http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index compatible router & look at the vlan tutorials (there is a search function to see if your current router is supported)
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Tutorials

alternatively, maybe a router that has guess wifi capabilities & setup the AP to connect to the guess wifi & he connects to the AP

ordered two compatible routers

I'll swap my wifi over to one of those too (lads working for me use it)

two of them means I can boost the range at the same time

thanks :-)
