The media industries can be tenacious on this kind of thing so I expect that hard action will come sooner or later.

Real problem being different countries have different laws while the internet transcends country borders and has been moving quicker than the lawmakers can cope with. Expect blocking action too, if they cant take the site down they can make accessing it difficult at least.

Its bloody stupid, getting really anoying.

Things are allowed, legal, then they are not, then something you think is actually isnt, companies get away with digital media signing, prices, then they do not, then cross country and EU regulations blablablblablablabla.

Thought it was common knowledge allofmp3.com was illegal. It stopped being promoted on technology shows because of it. ROMS has nothing to do with paying the artists for the rights to distribute music.

This isnt exactly new news folks... it was always there if you were willing to open your eyes, ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Its still going to be put through the legal wringer and with enough pressure behind it the Russians are going to change the law to suit. At best its a grey area at the moment internally to Russia but you buying an MP3 from them still breaks the law cause you arent paying the due royalties.

That news report isnt saying its legal. The news report is saying the moscow authorities wont prosecute it as copyright laws do not apply in Russia.

That doesnt mean Billy from Lundun, UK can download tunes from there perfectly legally. Fact remains its a loophole in RUSSIAN laws not international or UK law. You will still be breaking the UK laws by purchasing music from that site.

it doesnt make much difference tbh tho.... if they cant sell them out of Russia theyll sell them out of somewhere else that doesnt care
