Quixoticish

It worries me that the youth of today know about grenades from a pop music album rather than the host of violent movies that Im sure most children of the 80s sneaked quick glimpses of on recorded VHS whilst their parents were in bed on a Saturday morning.

I just thought a grenade was like.... common knowledge? Round lumpy thing with a pin? I think maybe Im looking at this the wrong way. I should probably be applauding the innocence.  8)

By the age of 12 i had already watched First Blood countless times :)

Dave

QuoteLuckily, she recognised the explosive device from her American Idiot Green Day T-shirt.

Instead of panicking her little Green Day socks off, Ruby calmy alerted her dad who told her to put it down very carefully and slowly. As such, it did not explode.

so the stupid kid knew exactly what it was and yet still decided to go and pick the thing up anyway

Leon

lol i missed that.. great :D

Dont kids get taught what a grenade is in school these days? It must at least crop up in history classes some time.

Maybe we didnt defeat the Germans with guns and tanks, we used harsh language.

Dave

we got taught what they were at school & we got taught how to use them

Mongoose

So does this T-Shirt actually say "this device is a grenade, it will explode most mightily if annoyed". I am a little confused as to how she could have recognised it as an explosive from seeing a piccy on a T-Shirt.

No, its actually a heart dressed in the guise of a grenade, so its even less clear as to what it is:

maximusotter

Im reporting all the grid tattooed bloody hearts with cotter pins that I randomly find to the bomb squad.

Sweenster

tbh, green day fans should be reported to the army

safely explode them, would do some good i reckon ;)
