France played a better game in some ways, but after the goal that wasnt because of a nonexistant offsides, and Zidanes behavior...I got no sympathies.

EDIT: Replays show Materazzi giving Zidane a titty twister. Fair enough I say.

That Materazzi fella looks like a nasty piece of work. Must have been winding him up all night to have had Zidane do that in a World Cup final.

No excuse for that but time will forget it and see him for the outstanding player that he is.

There were alot of unhappy Frenchmen when he was sent off, not to mention when Trezeguet missed the penalty.

Yeah, the commentators over here were all going, "now thats all he will be remembered for", which is absolute dogsh*t. Zidane built his reputation on years and years as a solid midfielder, hes earned the benefit of the doubt. Most folks Ive talked to basically think, "well, he probably had a damn good reason." Hes flipped before, and it was due to a racist comment about his ethnicity. Sometimes you just gotta smackem.

The French allready say we forgive him, he will be remember as a great player, I will at least, it was fun watching his nice moves.

It has been alledged that the Italian made a nasty racist comment about Zidane although it hasnt been confirmed as yet. Zidane definitely made a decision on what he was going to do before he did it though and should have known what the consequences were going to be. After warching it several times though the Italian definitely planned it and took a dive.
