I was at a steam and vintage transport rally this weekend and had the pleasure of meeting this car and its owner. I looked at it and thought it was a lookalike, only my sister recognised it for the geniune article right off.

But are we alone? or do you too look at this car and have flashbacks to your childhood?

PS I have just noticed the roof is rather burned out, I didnt spot that happening in my concentration on getting the bodywork colour right. Ill fix it tomorrow!

Correct, it is indeed Gumdrop! and the gentleman sitting in the drivers seat is Val Biro, author of over 30 childrens stories about the adventures of the car. He is a really nice man, we had a lovely chat with him and he seemed genuinely flattered that my sister and I remembered his stories, some of which are based on truth and some on things he would have liked to happen.
