Mudguards... Complicated little bastards of chromoplastic arent they.

HOW DO YOU FIT THEM TO A DAMN BIKE!!! AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Been 3 hrs so far. Ive removed the rear wheel 4 times! and cut my bloody hand on the bloody stabby bloody supports of bloodyness for the bloody mudguards.

Still no closer to fitting them.

Any hints?!

Serious

The mistake you made was buying the things in the first place

TBH it depends on the bike and mudgards if they are compatable.

M3ta7h3ad

Er... bit of a complication. My rear mech has just all fallen off.

Erm... HELP.

soopahfly

Fallen off?  The bolt come loose, snapped or has the hanger come off?

M3ta7h3ad

Bolts come loose I think, theres nothing on the frame or on the floor. it just fell off whilst removing the back wheel.

As for whats come off... EVERYTHING has come off, like.. nothing is attached to the frame. its held on by chain, and the gear cable.

Think I figured it out. the bolt is a wierd u bolt thing... think it slots into the dropout itself. Its the only way I could get the wierd thing to line up. So its like that now. Hopefully itll stay that way!

There should be eyelettes on your dropouts and fork specifically for this purpose. Pics please, sounds like you have dug a chasm of complexity where none should be.

Mudguards are a 20 minute job.

M3ta7h3ad

Right well... I have them attached!! :) Except my rear mech stuff is squidged into the cogs on my bike so they rub and make a bumpy sound.

The mudguards rub the tyres on both wheels.

My rear brakes are non-effective as after my thumb got crushed I couldnt force the two things together to adjust them properly.

My hand hurts still from when my dad managed to crush my thumb with the rear brake.

All in all it went well. :)

*IF EVER I GET THE IDEA TO FIT BLOODY MUDGUARDS TO A BIKE AGAIN... SHOOT ME. Its less bloody hassle!

Ceathreamhnan

All the above persuades me that you are in need of a helpful lbs ;)

maximusotter

 Yeah, theyre simple things. Attach struts to bike, attach fenders to stay bridge and fork, adjust stays till they clear tire, tighten locknuts. I think my record is 12 minutes, and 20 minutes on a bike I have to use zip ties on. :P

Stays??

I have one attached to wear one can attached a footstand thing, then attached to its fancy supports of stabbyness stuff, which are attached to a spare hole on the rear dropouts.

The other is attached to a hole on the front dropouts, and then as I had no bolts long enough... just wallplugged and screwed into the front of the frame (there was a hole just ideally positioned at the bottom of the frame)

M3ta7h3ad

How do I get the rear mech out of my cassette??

Its making bumping noises as the two cogs mesh together.

soopahfly

Take a pic, and well have a looksie.
