lol. why not just turn off simple file sharing and set up a nice user group. I have certain folders on my machine that my parents cant access. ;)

Only my account has access rights for it.

Mardoni

em.... no idea :D but you can hide the folders on them providing you format them with NTFS.

Theres nothing stopping me from using EFS to protect it AS well as access rights on NTFS.

unless you have Windows HE. And what about the millions of people that do not know how to do it or do not have the rights?

Then they best stick to passworded compressed files :D

With XPs inbuilt support its good enough for the majority of folk :)

Quite easy, you put then in a place nobody will look, I used to gave a small hidden drawer that I kept a couple of SD cards in. Even better if you use strong encryption on the files first.

Decided that as they were legal anyway I might as well not bother, I only did it as an experiment to see how easy it was to do.

Xp supports passworded compressed folders Out Of The Box??

M3ta7h3ad

er... yea. :)

When youve made a compressed zip file open it in xp. then head to file, and "password" :)
